Digital Books

Reading this article reminded me of this picture I found on Tumblr:

I do agree that digital books are convenient because they are accessible to anyone with a computer; however, I find it sad that it is slowly replacing the written text industry.  I still own the very first books that were given to me, and I still receive books as gifts that I treasure.  I fear that later generations will never know the real sentimental value of a book or the ability to write handwritten notes in margins.

  1. In writing my response I completely forgot about receiving a book as a gift and how it is a thing to treasure and being able to read the note left by the gift giver; if we go completely digital things like that will be lost.
